This policy describes how the Railway Map Android app (“the App”) handles information. The App is a map viewer for railway infrastructure; it does not require an account.
We do not ask you to create a profile in the App. We do not knowingly collect your name, email, or phone number through the App. We do not run in‑App advertising SDKs and we do not sell your personal data.
If you grant location permission, the App uses your device’s location only to show your position on the map and to improve map usability (e.g. recenter). Location is processed on your device and is not sent to servers we operate. You can deny location permission and still browse the map manually.
The App loads map images over the internet. When you use the map, your device contacts third‑party servers, which receive typical technical data (for example IP address, requested tile coordinates, user‑agent, timestamps) as part of normal HTTPS requests. These services include:
We do not control how those providers process server logs; please read their policies if this matters to you.
The App includes a local database of station names and related data to power offline‑style search on your device. That database is bundled with the App; search runs locally and is not uploaded to our servers (we do not operate a backend that receives your search queries).
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy when the App changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
